The Green Room
Where entertainers and their management gather.
From the captain.
24th-Mar-2008 09:14 am
I have been around for a few years now, I am a old hand at the ropes as they say. Every once in a while I like to re-introduce myself, as I believe making contact with new individuals broadens one’s horizons.

I am Captain Breacan Sanchez, at your service.

(ooc: for those whose muses know such things the captain is a selkie/fey Immortal. He can be in any time/line before 1100 and after his death 1100.)
29th-Mar-2008 04:56 am (UTC)
Geez, read sci-fi much?
29th-Mar-2008 05:32 am (UTC)
I wish.

Surely, Madame can see the pitfalls of it?
29th-Mar-2008 05:43 am (UTC)
Yeah well it can't happen, I mean it's not like there really is a fountain of youth or picture of Dorian Gray, so it doesn't matter anyway.

And that 'Madame' thing is starting to wear on me. You can call me Shannon or Shay, you know.
29th-Mar-2008 06:00 am (UTC)
No? More Things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio.

It is ingrained, trained habit, used on most females. Unfortunately, it is not a habit I can stop instantly.

29th-Mar-2008 06:08 am (UTC)
So you don't think if there were a way the whole world would know about it and most likely start a war or three.

I'll make a deal with you. You make an effort to use my name and I'll try not to let it drive me batshit when you forget, okay?
29th-Mar-2008 06:17 am (UTC)
Wars have been started over lesser things. Just as well, the idea of living forever is only the creation of writers and nothing more.

A deal? That is negotiation. I never negotiate. Perhaps Madame, can simply choose to accept my ways.
29th-Mar-2008 06:56 am (UTC)
Well can you at least cut me a little slack and try some other word? Madame makes me sound old.
31st-Mar-2008 01:33 am (UTC)
How about Miss?

Old? Depending on where Madame wishes to go, I would not think that such a bad thing.
31st-Mar-2008 01:42 am (UTC)
Miss is a model and trust me after 25 its all downhill.
31st-Mar-2008 03:16 am (UTC)
Ah yes, a competition if I am remembering correctly.

*Amused.* Twenty-five? My, however can my old bones stand all this excitement.
31st-Mar-2008 03:42 am (UTC)
I'm serious, do you have any idea how much work there is out there for women over 25, damned little...unless you're a supermodel. If you aren't a name by the time you're 20, you are pretty much fucked.
31st-Mar-2008 05:07 am (UTC)
In which case, should Madame not consider having a backup plan?
31st-Mar-2008 05:11 am (UTC)
I've got a few insurance policies that'll pay nicely when I decide to cash them in.
31st-Mar-2008 05:37 am (UTC)
I see. Always worthwhile to have a backup plan.
31st-Mar-2008 05:47 am (UTC)
I always have a backup plan, several actually. So what about you tall dark and sexy, what's your thing?
1st-Apr-2008 02:50 am (UTC)
I am certain, Madame has her safety nets well established should she need them.

Always and only, the sea.
1st-Apr-2008 10:59 pm (UTC)
So the captain part is no bull?
2nd-Apr-2008 08:43 am (UTC)
It is said in all seriousness, Madame.
2nd-Apr-2008 07:00 pm (UTC)
So are you a soldier, I mean a sailor, in the Navy?
2nd-Apr-2008 08:44 pm (UTC)
No, Madame. I am a civilian with a unrestricted master mariner's license.
3rd-Apr-2008 02:22 am (UTC)
So not to sound like a complete idiot, but what does that mean?
3rd-Apr-2008 06:04 am (UTC)
Simply, it means I can sail any seafaring vessel.
3rd-Apr-2008 07:45 am (UTC)
You mean even those ships with all the canvas sails? I love those and I always wondered what it would be like to sail on one.

ooc- Just a little bit of the kid under the hard shell peeking out there.
4th-Apr-2008 07:52 am (UTC)
I mean any type of sailing ship. From a supertanker like Knock Nevis to something as small as a dingy. And yes, also those ships with all the canvas sails.

I gather Madame means the Tall Ships. To sail upon one is not beyond Madame's hopes; they still do replica sails and encourage deckhands.

(ooc: HEE, cute :))
4th-Apr-2008 08:09 am (UTC)
Yeah, Tall Ships, that's it! The only thing in school that even remotely caught my interest were the great explorers. I mean, imagine leaving your home and sailing off into the unknown on those beautiful ships, never knowing if you would ever see land again even much less your home.
